Woman Starts Working as a Nanny and Finds the Shoes of Her Long-Lost Daughter — Story of the Day

Lori, a nanny, uncovered a pair of shoes that once belonged to her daughter, Olive, who vanished 22 years ago. Shocked and tearful, she asked Emily, the mother of the child she cared for, about the shoes. Emily hesitated before revealing that she had been found as a young girl and adopted. She didn’t remember much about her past.

Lori, overwhelmed, asked if Emily’s original name was Olive. Emily was stunned, confirming the name but unable to explain how Lori knew it. Lori tearfully explained that Olive was her daughter, lost in Scotland, wearing those same shoes.

The realization hit them both—Emily was Olive. The two embraced, finally reunited after decades of separation.

Marissa, the little girl Lori had been nannying, approached and hugged them. Lori marveled that she had been caring for her granddaughter all along. With tears of joy, Emily promised never to disappear again, and Lori held her close, finally reunited with her daughter and family after so many years.
