Woman, 53, Became Gestational Carrier for Her Daughter Who Got Pregnant at the Same Time after Years of Infertility

Kelsi Pierce, facing fertility challenges, received unexpected help from her mother, Lisa Rutherford, who volunteered as a gestational carrier. The costly process was financially daunting for Kelsi and her husband, Kyle, but Lisa, despite being in her 50s, selflessly offered to carry her daughter’s child. Remarkably, both Kelsi and Lisa became pregnant around the same time. Kelsi’s pregnancy occurred through traditional means, while Lisa carried the embryo created through IVF.

The miraculous dual pregnancies led to the birth of sisters Everly (Lisa’s granddaughter) and Ava, born about two months apart. Lisa experienced an early C-section due to preeclampsia, with Everly facing initial complications but eventually thriving. The family celebrated the birth of Ava in November 2020. Despite the initial challenges, both daughters grew healthy, and the Pierces cherish the unique experience of having sisters born in such close succession.

The heartwarming story highlights the deep bonds within the family and the extraordinary journey that brought these sisters into the world. The article underscores the selfless act of a mother and the joyous outcome of having both mother and daughter share the journey of motherhood simultaneously.
