In a statement, the actor insisted that he required surgery, which, according to his doctor, obviously could not be postponed. According to The Oklahoman, he will have hip surgery.
“I had assumed it could wait, but my doctors say it needs to happen in September.” Russell said, “As much as I would have liked to be there this year, I’m grateful that the museum decided to delay our honor so I could accept this magnificent prize.”
Kurt Russell should be commended for being inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers! We wish him a speedy recovery from his procedure.
