Judy Sheindlin, famously known as Judge Judy, encountered an unexpected health scare during a live presentation, despite her extensive experience with courtroom dramas. While currently serving as the executive producer for “Judy Justice,” Judy reminisced about an incident in 2011 that took her by surprise, possibly a transient ischemic attack (TIA).
She revealed, “Dedicated viewers who had been following my journey for 15 years picked up on something amiss.” These concerned fans acted swiftly, alerting emergency services without seeking confirmation, a decision Judy approved of, as she would have discouraged them from intervening. The 79-year-old TV personality described feeling a “slowed-down inquiry” during the live broadcast, prompting the show’s producers to dial 911 immediately.
Although her doctors expressed concerns about her health, Judy assured that she was well, even if there was a risk of a mini-stroke. She stated, “While it’s possible that I had a transient ischemia stroke, the symptoms thankfully subsided quickly.”
Thankfully, Judy’s admirers can breathe a sigh of relief as she remains in good health and continues her television career with her new show. When asked about retiring from her TV duties, Judy’s response was resolute: “My energy remains unwavering.” She expressed her preference for activities like tennis and golf, with no inclination to delve into learning new pastimes like mahjong, checkers, or chess. She knows what brings her joy and sees no reason to change.
Judy and Jerry Sheindlin, who have been married for 45 years, are preparing to celebrate another year of wedded bliss. Their marriage, which initially experienced a brief separation, has endured, bringing happiness away from the spotlight of Judy’s television career.
