Veteran actress Kathy Bates diagnosed with serious chronic health condition

Actress Kathy Bates has been a staple on television and movies for decades. She is known to play fierce characters and in real life, she is just as intimidating.

Actress Kathy Bates, known for her character roles, faced challenges early in her career due to not fitting traditional beauty standards. Her Broadway success in 1980 led to a breakthrough at 42 with her Oscar-winning role in “Misery.”
Battling cancer in 2003 and 2012, she now advocates for lymphedema awareness, a condition she developed post-cancer. Bates emphasizes the importance of managing lymphedema by wearing compression sleeves and adopting a slower pace. Despite the challenges, she continues her advocacy work, encouraging others not to let health conditions define them and promoting research and awareness for lymphedema.
