Old Woman Disinherits Her Children after She Overhears Them Arguing in the Hospital Room – Story of the Day

When Stephanie heard her children arguing about their inheritance, she decided to change her will to help Rachel, a woman she met at the hospital. Her children cut her off for good, but Stephanie was no longer alone.

Admitted after a bad angina case, Stephanie, a wealthy widow, liked walking the hospital halls. One day, she found an 11-year-old boy, Patrick, crying next to his sick mother, Rachel, who couldn’t afford her treatment.

Moved by Patrick’s concern, Stephanie decided to help. She called her lawyer, Mr. Goldberg, and revised her will: Amelia and Mark would receive only $5,000 each, with her house already transferred to them. The rest of her estate, including her husband’s royalties and her money, would go to Rachel and Patrick.

Her children, eavesdropping, burst in, furious. Stephanie firmly told them they were disinherited due to their neglect and greed. They left, vowing to sell her house.

Rachel’s treatment was paid for, and she recovered. Having lost their apartment, Stephanie invited Rachel and Patrick to live with her in her new home in exchange for help around the house. Rachel gratefully accepted.

Stephanie never saw her children again but found a new family with Rachel and Patrick, receiving more love and care from them in her remaining years than she ever did from Amelia and Mark.
