Joan thought her cozy movie night with Beverly would be filled with laughter, but it turned into a shocking revelation. Beverly, her eight-year-old sister, confessed that their stepmother, Sophia, had taken her Christmas money. Joan’s heart sank when Beverly explained Sophia claimed it was for groceries but later saw her shopping for herself.
Determined to make it right, Joan planned a family dinner. The following night, as they sat around the table, Joan casually brought up Beverly’s missing Christmas money. Sophia’s smug demeanor immediately faltered. When Joan revealed that Beverly had told her Sophia had taken all $300, the room fell silent.
Sophia attempted to defend her actions, claiming it was borrowed, but Joan wasn’t having it. Dad, visibly angry, demanded that Sophia pay back every cent. She reluctantly agreed.
That night, Dad handed Beverly $300. “This is yours,” he said, smiling warmly at her. The next morning, Joan and Beverly went shopping, and Beverly picked out a beautiful pink bike with a basket, along with a doll and an art kit. Beverly’s joy was priceless.
At home, Dad thanked Joan for standing up for Beverly, admitting he should have trusted his instincts about Sophia. Joan smiled, knowing her sister’s smile was all the revenge they needed.
