My Stepmom Intentionally Called Me the Wrong Name Until I Taught Her a Lesson

Ever since my dad remarried Carla, she’s been a constant annoyance, calling me by my second name, Eunice, instead of Jessica. She claimed it sounded more distinguished, ignoring my feelings. My stepsister Jessica and I got along well, which only seemed to confuse Carla more.

One day at the supermarket, Carla spotted her boss and introduced me as Eunice. Ignoring her, I continued shopping until she finally called me Jessica. I turned and calmly corrected her, embarrassing her in front of her boss.

The tension at home was palpable. My dad tried to mediate, suggesting nicknames, but I insisted it was about respect. Carla’s birthday party was a turning point. Introducing me to her friends, she hesitated but finally called me Jessica. Stepsister Jessica squeezed my hand, and we shared a victorious smile.

Meanwhile, another woman, Kayla, faced a similar struggle. Her mother left when she was a baby, and her father, Collin, remarried Tanya, who had twins, Allie and Avery. Initially, Tanya treated Kayla well, but her behavior changed, showing favoritism towards her own children.

Kayla’s father assured her of his support, but he passed away shortly after her 15th birthday. Tanya’s true colors showed when she gave Kayla a used school bag for her birthday while her own kids received expensive gifts. Despite the pain, Kayla found strength in her father’s love and her grandmother’s wisdom.

Both Jessica and Kayla learned to stand up for themselves, demanding the respect they deserved. Their stories highlight the importance of self-worth and the power of resilience in the face of adversity.
