When Callie questions her son Jason about his grades, he lashes out, and she grounds him, canceling his date. However, Jason decides to ground his mother instead.
Being a single mom to a rebellious 16-year-old is challenging. “Jason, we need to talk about your grades,” Callie said, making dinner. Jason snapped, “You don’t understand me. Leave me alone.” Callie responded, “Until you improve, no date with Kelsey tonight.”
Later, Jason tricked Callie into checking a basement leak. Once she entered, he locked the door, saying, “I’m going on my date.”
Callie, trapped and furious, escaped through a small window. She called her mother, who agreed to help. They found Jason on his date. When Jason saw his grandmother, he panicked. Callie locked the café door, confronting him. His date, Kelsey, was amused but unimpressed.
Jason pleaded, “Grandma, Mom, I’m sorry.” His grandmother, stern, replied, “Sorry isn’t enough. We’re going home, and you’re studying.”
Back home, Jason’s grandmother ensured he studied. The next morning, Jason apologized sincerely, “Mom, I wanted Kelsey to see me differently. Locking you in the basement was stupid and wrong.”
Callie sighed, hugging him. “Jason, that was dangerous and disrespectful. But I understand. Let’s work on this together.”
