My Neighbor Reported Me to the HOA for a Garden Gnome – She Regretted It Soon

My sweet granddaughter gifted me the cutest garden gnome to brighten my yard. But my neighbor, Carol, a stickler for every HOA rule, reported me for “ruining” the neighborhood aesthetic. Little did she know, I had a trick up my sleeve.

Carol, queen of complaints, thought she had me. But after receiving the violation notice, I decided to fight fire with fire. I dug out the HOA rulebook and discovered Carol wasn’t as perfect as she thought. Her fence was an inch too tall, her mailbox the wrong shade of beige, and those wind chimes? Oh, the noise ordinance would love that.

That night, I teamed up with my friends to stage “Operation Gnome Invasion.” We filled her yard with gnomes, and by morning, Carol’s screech echoed through the neighborhood.

By midday, the HOA sent an official to reprimand her. Not only did she get a letter about the gnomes, but also one about her own violations! The look on her face was priceless.

As she begrudgingly removed each gnome, I strolled by with a sweet smile, “Evening, Carol! Redecorating?”

My gnome still sits by the birdbath, grinning wider than ever.
