When Claire, John, and their son Ethan boarded a flight to visit John’s parents, John mysteriously disappeared to Business Class, leaving Claire to handle the toddler alone. Claire was frustrated, but John seemed oblivious. At their destination, John’s father, Jacob, sensed the tension.
The next day, Jacob asked John to stay home and prepare the house for guests while the rest went out. John reluctantly agreed, missing the family dinner.
Jacob had more lessons in store. The following morning, he handed John a list of chores: cleaning the garage, fixing the fence, and mowing the lawn. “You need to understand the value of family and hard work,” Jacob insisted.
John spent the week working, reflecting on his actions. One evening, he admitted to Claire, “I’m so sorry. I realize now how much I took you for granted.”
As their visit ended, Jacob revealed his final lesson. “John, your Business Class ticket has been canceled. Claire and Ethan will travel in Business, and you’ll sit in Economy.”
John apologized sincerely at the airport, promising to change. Claire, holding Ethan, replied, “Things have to change when we get home.” John nodded, understanding the value of family and responsibility.
