My Husband Borrowed $30K from My Father for His Business – Now He Claims the Deal Never Happened

I grew up in a small town where my hardworking parents instilled the values of honesty and integrity. When I met Tom, his charm and ambitious dreams swept me off my feet. After we married, Tom convinced my dad to lend him $30,000 to start an auto repair shop, promising to repay it within a year. However, as the business struggled, Tom changed. He denied ever borrowing the money and accused my dad of scamming him. Our marriage crumbled, and I felt utterly betrayed.

Determined to get the money back for my dad, I devised a bold plan: I faked a pregnancy, knowing Tom would do anything to avoid years of child support. I demanded $50,000, saying it was for the loan plus interest. He had one week to pay. Tom was desperate, calling repeatedly to negotiate, but I held my ground. On the seventh day, he arrived, exhausted, and handed me the full amount. I thanked him, and he left town that night, disappearing from our lives.

Though a mix of emotions washed over me—relief, guilt, pride—I was glad I stood up for myself and my family. The fake pregnancy worked, but it’s a trick I don’t plan on using again.
