My Greedy Father-in-Law Put a Hair in an Expensive Dish to Get It for Free—but Karma Got Him Immediately

Frank was always proud of his tricks to get free food. One night, he invited us to a high-end restaurant. My husband Ethan and I knew what was coming.

Frank scanned the menu, choosing the most expensive item—a lobster. Halfway through the meal, I saw him pluck a hair from my head and place it on his dish.

“There’s a hair in my food!” he shouted, calling the waiter over, clearly aiming for a free meal.

The manager approached, but instead of offering an apology, his face changed. “Sir,” he said, “we believe you placed the hair there yourself.”

Frank looked shocked, trying to argue, but the manager continued, “One of our staff recognized you from a previous restaurant where you pulled the same stunt. Please leave, or we’ll involve the authorities.”

The entire restaurant stared, some even laughing. Defeated, Frank grabbed his coat and stormed out. But the manager wasn’t done: “We’ll be sharing your details with other restaurants—you won’t be welcome anymore.”

Ethan and I were silent at first, but once Frank left, I couldn’t help but laugh.

“I never thought I’d see the day,” I said. “Frank finally got what he deserved.”

Ethan shook his head. “Maybe he’ll realize cheating his way through life always comes at a cost.”

That night, karma taught Frank a lesson he never saw coming—and this time, the meal wasn’t free.
