Kids Mock Needy Classmate for Cheap Halloween Costume until Principal Shows up Wearing the Same — Story of the Day

Levi loved his small house and his parents, Carol and Darren. They weren’t rich, but they were there for one another. One Halloween, Levi was upset because he didn’t have a new costume like his classmates.

“Honey, we’re saving for the mortgage,” Carol explained. “We love you more than anything!”

Levi, frustrated, stormed to his room. Two days later, Darren surprised him with a cardboard robot costume he had made. Levi’s heart soared; he hugged his dad and thanked him.

But on the day of the competition, his classmates teased him. “Look at Levi’s cardboard costume!” they laughed. Levi felt crushed, tears welling up.

Suddenly, the school principal, Mr. Frederick, appeared on stage dressed as a robot too! “Where’s my fellow robot?” he called out.

Levi stepped forward, astonished. “You have the same costume!”

“Call me Captain Red! Agent Blue, I love your suit! It shows your dad’s love, which is what matters most,” Mr. Frederick said.

Levi smiled brightly, and with that encouragement, he felt proud of his costume.

After the competition, the mean kids apologized. “Your costume is awesome, Levi!” they admitted.

Levi grinned. “Let’s be nice to everyone! My parents say we should love each other!”

Mr. Frederick nodded. “Exactly! Always stand up for each other.”

That Halloween, Levi not only won the competition but also learned the importance of kindness and love.
