Joanne Woodward Lost Her Husband After 50 Years of Marriage & Now ‘Doesn’t Even Remember the Love of Her Life’ — Their Story

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward shared a five-decade love story filled with devotion and challenges. They met in the 1950s, married in 1958, and built a life together while navigating Hollywood, family struggles, and Paul’s battle with alcohol. Despite hardships, their bond remained unbreakable.

Joanne stepped back from acting to raise their daughters, while Paul’s career soared. Tragedy struck when his son, Scott, died in 1978. Later, both faced health battles—Joanne was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and Paul with terminal cancer. He passed in 2008 at 83.

Now 94, Joanne no longer remembers the life they shared. Their daughters remain by her side, honoring their legacy of love, family, and philanthropy.
