I Gave Birth to My Twins Much Later in Life & My Oldest Daughter Was ‘Disgusted’ by This

Lauren Cohen, a woman in her late 50s, decided to remarry and have children with her new husband, Frank Garcia, whom she met at a dancing class in 2002. Despite a significant age gap, the couple fell in love and sought to start a family through IVF. Facing challenges due to Cohen’s age, they found a clinic in Virginia that agreed to help, leading to the birth of their daughter Raquel in 2004. Subsequently, Cohen discovered she was expecting twins and, in May 2006, at the age of 59, she became the oldest mother in the U.S. to give birth to twins, Gregory and Giselle.

Despite the joy of expanding their family, Cohen’s decision to have children later in life strained her relationship with her oldest daughter, Renée. Renée disapproved of Cohen’s choice and became estranged from her mother. The two meet only four times a year in a restaurant, as Renée refuses to enter Cohen’s home. Despite the challenges, Cohen feels she made the right decision, ensuring her husband wouldn’t be alone if she passed away. The couple continues to navigate parenthood, cherishing the moments with their children.

Frank Garcia, Cohen’s husband, expresses delight in becoming a father to twins and looks forward to the joys of fatherhood.
