Devious Man Forces Mother-in-Law to Sell House and Runs Away with Her Money – Story of the Day

A horrible man tricked his wife and mother-in-law into giving him all her money, then ran away, not knowing his mother-in-law was ten times smarter than him.

“Don’t worry, Mom. You’re going to live with us now,” Francesca told her mother, Jasmine, after her father passed. “Family is most important.” Derek, her husband, was initially upset but agreed to help Jasmine with her finances, sensing an opportunity.

Jasmine moved in, and Derek’s behavior grew suspicious. He took late-night calls and came home late. Jasmine’s gut told her something was wrong. One night, she followed him and discovered he was cheating. She told Francesca, but her daughter refused to believe it.

Derek overheard and manipulated Francesca into sending Jasmine to a nursing home. However, Jasmine befriended Mr. Erickson, a banker. Months later, Derek ran off with his mistress and the money. Francesca was devastated but called Jasmine immediately.

“Don’t worry, baby. Derek didn’t get the money,” Jasmine revealed. “Mr. Erickson is the owner of Derek’s bank. I asked him to watch Derek. He found out Derek was embezzling and froze his accounts.”

“So, the money is safe?” Francesca asked.

“Yes, and Derek is under investigation. He’ll be arrested soon,” Jasmine assured.

Derek was indeed arrested, and Francesca secured a quick divorce. Jasmine’s clever actions protected their finances, and Francesca even began dating Mr. Erickson’s son, grateful for her mother’s wisdom.
