Ali Macgraw Gave up Hollywood for a Quiet Life…

Ali MacGraw, known for her captivating performances and impeccable style, made waves not only for her on-screen talent but also for her romantic relationships. Marrying three times, her union with Steve McQueen notably led to her hiatus from acting, as he wanted a “normal life.” Despite her initial reluctance, she dedicated herself to caring for their child, Josh.

However, McQueen’s infidelity and substance abuse strained their marriage, leading to their divorce in 1977. MacGraw’s subsequent marriages left her facing financial difficulties, prompting her retreat from Hollywood. She settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she embraced a simple life focused on reading, collecting rocks, and volunteering for causes she cares about, such as animal welfare and the environment.

At 83, MacGraw lives a fulfilling life, finding joy in her daily routines, close friendships, and cherished time with her son Josh, who has flourished as an author, screenwriter, and filmmaker. Despite financial challenges, she remains grateful and content, prioritizing gratitude and self-reflection in her daily life. MacGraw’s journey reflects her resilience, finding peace and happiness in the quiet simplicity of Santa Fe.
