Vietnam veteran Larry Robeson faced financial struggles upon returning from duty, barely affording basic necessities. The Fox 5 Surprise Squad encountered Larry at a Las Vegas grocery store, where they were covering people’s bills. While covering groceries for Larry’s friend Stephanie, a disabled veteran, they learned about Larry’s Bones for Blankets club, which provided blankets to homeless veterans. Larry started the club after three comrades tragically froze to death. Touched by his story, the Surprise Squad paid $278 for Larry’s groceries, emphasizing their gratitude: “You served us. It’s our turn to serve you now.” Larry, moved by the unexpected kindness, expressed his overwhelming gratitude.
