Clara and her widowed dad shared a close bond. But when he called her the housekeeper to impress his new girlfriend, Clara was hurt and angry. Determined to teach him a lesson, she decided to show that this ‘house cleaner’ knew how to tidy up more than just rooms.
After her mom’s death, Clara and her dad grew close, helping each other through the loneliness. They were best friends until one night, Clara came home to see her dad with a woman, whom he introduced Clara to as the housekeeper. Shocked and hurt, Clara devised a plan.
“Sure thing, Mr. Daniel,” Clara said, pretending to accept her role.
Returning to the living room, Clara announced, “Your last night wasn’t as hot as the day before yesterday! I cleaned for hours then!”
The woman, Martha, turned red. “I wasn’t here then! Who were you with?”
Clara continued, “Sorry, you must be Jessica, right? Mr. Daniels wouldn’t stop talking about you!”
Martha exploded, “I’m MARTHA!” Slapping Clara’s dad, she stormed out.
Her dad, stunned, asked, “Clara, why?”
“Because you lied and put me in a tough spot. If you date, be honest. Don’t call me your house cleaner.”
He started to laugh, and soon, they were both laughing. “You brought home someone who dislikes kids? Seriously?” Clara teased.
He apologized, and Clara reminded him, “We’re a team. No more secrets.”
They hugged, and her dad suggested, “Enough cleaning. Pizza and a movie instead?”
Clara agreed, their bond stronger than ever.
