My Son and Unemployed Husband Act like I Don’t Exist – Have I Taught Them the Right Lesson?

Regina felt ghosted by her jobless husband Patrick and son Milo, who played video games all day. While she worked hard, they enjoyed themselves at home. Tired of feeling invisible, she devised a plan. One night, she took all the cash and credit cards and left, hoping they’d realize her worth.

The next morning, a call from Patrick revealed they hadn’t noticed her absence. She told him about the missing money and fridge, expecting panic, but Patrick was unfazed, suggesting takeout instead. Frustrated, Regina returned home, expecting chaos.

Instead, she found the house tidy and empty. Soon, Patrick and Milo arrived with a basket of fish. Patrick had taught Milo to fish, making up for the missing groceries. Regina’s plan had backfired; they had bonded rather than struggled.

Confronting them, Regina admitted her ruse. She felt unappreciated while they were happy. Patrick reassured her that they needed her presence, not just her income. They decided to work as a team, with Patrick seeking a part-time job.

Realizing family time mattered more than money, Regina embraced their new dynamic. They learned to value each other, making a fresh start together.
