While cleaning the house, Crystal found wads of money under her daughter Daisy’s bed. Curious and nervous, she confronted the girl and uncovered a heartbreaking truth that brought tears to her eyes, prompting an urgent call to her ex-husband.
Crystal’s daughter, Daisy, just turned eight and is her world. While cleaning Daisy’s room, Crystal found boxes filled with money under the bed. “WHERE DID YOU GET THIS MONEY FROM?” she demanded. Daisy, in tears, said, “It’s for Daddy.”
Crystal’s ex-husband, William, a successful businessman, had once joked to Daisy, “You need to pay Daddy for his time,” which she took seriously. Daisy saved her Christmas, birthday, and lunch money and even sold toys to see her father.
Crystal confronted William, who was shocked and remorseful. “I never meant to hurt her,” he said. Realizing the gravity of his words, he promised to visit Daisy next weekend. “I’m coming. I promise,” he assured Crystal.
Relieved, Crystal comforted Daisy, saying, “Daddy’s coming to see you. You don’t need to worry anymore.” They decided to save the money for Daisy’s birthday instead. “You can’t buy time with money,” Crystal explained, as Daisy clutched her piggy bank with a smile.
Looking back, Crystal felt her reaction was justified, given the emotional toll on Daisy. “Put yourself in my shoes! How would you have reacted?” she pondered.
