Sarah walked into Nina’s apartment and found her sister lying on the couch, looking pale. Nina’s husband, Mark, was nearby, holding his stomach.
“How are you feeling?” Sarah asked.
“Awful,” Nina groaned. “We can’t go on our honeymoon. Maybe you could go instead?”
Sarah hesitated but eventually agreed.
At the airport, she bumped into Todd, Mark’s best friend. “What are you doing here?” she asked, annoyed.
“Mark suggested I go.”
Nina hadn’t warned her. They were stuck together. At the hotel, Sarah was annoyed to find only one bed. “I’m not sleeping with you,” she snapped.
“Suit yourself,” Todd replied.
Despite their animosity, Todd took Sarah shark diving. She was terrified, but Todd’s support helped her enjoy it. The next day, Sarah took Todd to a spa. He complained but eventually relaxed.
Later, Sarah met Michael, a stable and hardworking man. However, Todd insulted her, driving her closer to Michael out of spite. When her heel broke, Todd’s unexpected kindness surprised her. They shared a vulnerable conversation, revealing their fears. They kissed, realizing they needed each other.
Days later, Nina called, saying Todd planned to propose to someone else. Hurt, Sarah kissed Michael. But finding Todd’s proposal speech for her, she rushed to the airport. Security stopped her, but she yelled for Todd. He turned, and Sarah confessed her love, explaining her actions. Todd, moved, kissed her.
“I love you too,” he whispered, sealing their newfound connection.
