Iconic Hollywood legend and actor Sidney Poitier, passes away at 94 years old

Hollywood icon Sidney Poitier, aged 94, has passed away. His immense talent and impact on cinema will forever be remembered. Poitier’s groundbreaking achievements as an actor paved the way for racial equality in the industry.

In his own words, Poitier once said, “I knew I was an exception to the rule.” He indeed was, as the first African American to win an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1964. His portrayal of characters who broke racial barriers was pivotal.
