My Boyfriend Made My Life a Living Hell after I Publicly Rejected His Marriage Proposal – Is My Revenge Justified?

I’m Mandy, a 26-year-old junior attorney. My boyfriend, Jeff, 29, proposed at Disneyland, but I turned him down, not feeling ready for marriage. Furious and embarrassed, he vowed revenge.

A week later, my boss accused me of leaking confidential files, traced back to my laptop. I realized Jeff had sabotaged me by tampering with my computer. Despite my protests, I was fired. When I got home, Jeff had moved out, trashing the apartment. With my savings tied up in student loans and now jobless, I was desperate.

Jeff had boasted about his involvement in insider trading and shady financial dealings, thinking he was invincible. I decided to gather evidence against him, using my legal skills to compile an airtight dossier. I anonymously sent it to his company’s HR department, the SEC, and major clients.

Days later, I heard Jeff was fired and under investigation. The SEC pursued him for insider trading and financial fraud. His company blacklisted him, and even his friends distanced themselves.

Despite losing my job and financial stability, seeing Jeff face the consequences provided closure. He had tried to break me, but in the end, his downfall was spectacular.

While I’m not entirely proud of what I did, I know justice was served. Jeff’s arrogance and spite led to his own ruin, and I emerged stronger, ready to rebuild my life.
