Little Biracial Girl Mocked at School for Being Adopted, Later Meets Her Biological Mom — Story of the Day

A 9-year-old girl, Kathy, was in tears after being mocked by her classmates for being adopted. When her adoptive mother, Sarah, found out, she decided to contact Kathy’s biological mother.

Sarah and Mike had relocated to Denver, Colorado, and were worried about Kathy fitting in at her new school. Kathy, with her dark skin and curly hair, looked different from her white parents. She was nervous, and unfortunately, history repeated itself.

In class, Kathy was welcomed, but whispers and judgmental glances followed. Isabelle and Anne cruelly mocked her for looking different. One day, they surrounded Kathy, calling her a “black sheep” and claiming her parents didn’t love her.

Kathy ran to her teacher, Mrs. Smith, in tears. Sarah was called and took Kathy home. At home, Kathy locked herself in her room and later asked Sarah if it was true that she was adopted.

Sarah hugged her and explained that her biological mother, Nancy, had her when she was 15 and couldn’t keep her. Sarah and Mike loved her as their own. Kathy wanted to meet Nancy, and Sarah promised they could.

Mike found Nancy working at the orphanage, and they visited her. Nancy was overjoyed to reunite with Kathy. Sarah and Mike brought Nancy to Denver.

At school, Sarah and Mike informed Mrs. Smith about the bullying. The bullies were suspended. Kathy proudly held both her mothers’ hands, telling her bullies, “I have two wonderful mothers and a loving father. I really feel sorry for you!” She walked out with her family, feeling loved and supported.
