CELEBRITY NAMES WHO GOT CRITICISED FOR THEIR GRAY HAIR

Sarah Jessica Parker, known for her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City,” faced criticism for her makeup-free and gray-haired look during a dinner with Andy Cohen. Despite Parker being 58 years old, comments about her silver hair were labeled as ageist and misogynistic, especially when compared to the lack of scrutiny directed at Cohen’s own gray hair.

In response to the backlash, Parker questioned society’s obsession with aging and why people can’t be accepted as they are. She emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and grace in the face of aging, acknowledging that age is inevitable and shouldn’t be something to be ashamed of.

Similarly, veteran actress Diane Keaton, aged 78, encountered criticism for her silver hair at the Golden Globes in 2014. However, she embraced her grays as “battle scars” and advocated for aging gracefully without succumbing to societal pressures.

Even Jennifer Aniston, at 55, faced backlash when she shared her gray hair on social media in 2023. Despite some positive comments praising her for embracing her natural hair color, others criticized her decision, highlighting the societal expectations placed on celebrities, especially women, to maintain a youthful appearance.

Alexandra Grant, artist and girlfriend of Keanu Reeves, also faced harsh criticism for her gray hair after their relationship was revealed. Despite the negativity, Grant has been vocal about her choice to embrace her natural hair color and the toxicity of constantly dyeing it to meet beauty standards.

In a world where ageism and beauty standards persist, these women stand as examples of resilience and self-acceptance, challenging societal norms and advocating for the freedom to age naturally and authentically.
