Nancy left her father’s firm with her boyfriend, Christian, when a familiar voice stopped her. A homeless man, scruffy and layered in worn clothes, sat nearby. She recognized him instantly—Joe, her high school sweetheart. Despite Christian’s disdain, Nancy embraced Joe and learned life had been rough for him.
