Fifth-grade teacher Alexandra Stamps made a unique decision for her wedding by asking her students to be her bridesmaids and groomsmen. She and her fiancé, Mason McDowell, both teachers, wanted their students involved in their special day. Alexandra recorded the heartwarming moment she asked her students and shared it on TikTok, where it went viral with over 19 million views. The students, excited and emotional, enthusiastically accepted the roles. Alexandra explained that she and Mason spend a lot of time with their students and wanted to include them in the celebration as a way of honoring their hard work and resilience, especially during the pandemic. She ensured it was okay with the students’ parents before proposing the idea and gifted them faux pearl necklaces and colorful sunglasses. The students were delighted and received rainbow-striped lollipops after the proposal. Alexandra’s decision to involve her students in her wedding exemplifies her deep connection with them and her desire to share her special day with those who have been a significant part of her life.
