Actress Haydn Gwynne dies aged 66

Renowned actor Haydn Gwynne, known for her work on TV and stage, has passed away at 66 after battling cancer. Gwynne was celebrated for her roles, including playing the sardonic assistant editor in Channel 4’s Drop the Dead Donkey and being nominated for Olivier and Tony awards for her performance in Billy Elliot the Musical, among others. Gwynne was also known for her work in The Audience, The Way of the World, and The Great British Bake Off Musical.

Her career encompassed various Shakespearean roles and appearances in series such as The Crown and Sherlock. She earned acclaim as Alex Pates in Drop the Dead Donkey, which brought her a BAFTA nomination.
