Actor Michael Madsen, known for Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, mourned the tragic loss of his son, Hudson, who passed away from a gunshot wound to the head in January 2022 in a suspected suicide. Hudson was 26.
The family released a statement expressing their grief: “We are heartbroken and overwhelmed with pain at the loss of Hudson. His memory and light will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.”
Later, Madsen spoke to The Los Angeles Times, revealing his shock: “My son, whom I just spoke with, said he was happy. His last text to me was ‘I love you, Dad.’ I didn’t see any signs of depression.”
Madsen speculated that Hudson struggled after joining the Army, where he was reportedly mocked for seeking therapy. He served in Afghanistan from August 2018 to January 2019 while stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.
Hudson lived in Hawaii with his wife, Carlie, and according to Madsen, their marriage “was going strong.”
Rest in peace, Hudson.
