Richard Gere has sold his Connecticut estate for nearly $11 million and plans to relocate to Spain with his wife, Alejandra Silva, and their two young sons. The 75-year-old actor bought the New Canaan home in 2022 for $10.8 million, purchasing it from musicians Paul Simon and Edie Brickell, who acquired it for $16.5 million. The 1938 estate spans 32 acres and features six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, gardens, a pool, and a three-bedroom guest cottage. Gere, previously considering turning the property into a farm, is now setting off on what he describes as a “great adventure” in Spain. Gere’s wife, Silva, is originally from Spain, and the couple wishes to be closer to her family. This new chapter marks a shift for the family, who have resided in the U.S. since their 2018 marriage.
