Girls Visit Dad’s Grave to ‘Show’ Their New Dresses as He Asked, See 2 Boxes with Their Names – Story of the Day

Isla, 6, and Madison, 8, missed their daddy, Brian, who had passed away from cancer. His death left a deep hole in their lives, and their mom, Linda, was struggling with grief. Brian’s last wish was for his girls to visit his grave on his birthday, dressed in pretty outfits. “Promise me you’ll look your best for Daddy,” he had said, a final request he made the night before he passed.

Despite her sorrow, Linda took the girls shopping for the dresses Brian would have loved. The next day, they visited his grave, each wearing a beautiful outfit. To their surprise, they found two beautifully wrapped boxes with their names on them.

“Mommy! Daddy sent us gifts!” Isla exclaimed, grinning.

Linda smiled through her tears, knowing that Brian wasn’t the one who sent them, but she let the girls open the gifts. Inside were pink Mary Jane shoes and a letter from Brian, written from heaven.

The letter read:

“My prettiest girls,
I see how beautiful you look. I wanted to make you even prettier, so I bought you these shoes. I know you miss stealing cookies with me, but don’t worry, I saw your mommy restocking the pantry! Keep smiling, and remember I love you always.”

Isla beamed, while Madison quietly wiped away a tear. Linda hugged her girls, feeling a little lighter as she whispered, “I love you both,” thankful for the strength they gave her to keep going.
