We won’t be seeing anymore of Dr. Phil

Dr. Phil McGraw, the renowned daytime TV psychologist, is ending his 21-year talk show, but he assures his audience that this isn’t the last they’ll see of him. Dr. Phil, an offshoot of Oprah Winfrey’s program, has been providing support on various topics, from addiction to mental wellness.

While there’s no specific final episode date, McGraw plans to focus on prime-time programming and has an upcoming project for next year. Although new episodes won’t be produced during the interim, the show will continue to be available on TV through reruns and occasional new wraparound content. CBS Media Ventures, which syndicates the program, intends to keep the “Dr. Phil” library available for years to come.

This strategy, similar to “Judge Judy,” aims to cut costs while maintaining viewer engagement.
