My Mother Found Out My Wife Had Been Treating Me like a Housekeeper Since I Work from Home and Made Her Regret It

For three years, I balanced a full-time job, childcare, and household chores while working from home. My wife Ruby’s career was demanding, and I took over household duties after she gave birth to our twins. At first, I didn’t mind. But as time went on, I became overwhelmed, realizing Ruby expected me to handle everything at home without offering help.

I missed my friends and was exhausted. One day, my mom visited and saw the situation. She immediately took action, arranging for me to have a weekend at a spa with friends while Ruby took care of everything. Ruby was shocked, calling me in a panic when my mom laid down the law. My mom told her it was time for Ruby to understand how much I’d been doing.

That weekend was a turning point. I finally relaxed, while Ruby got a taste of my daily struggles. When I returned, she apologized, realizing how much I’d been handling. She promised to reduce her work hours and help out more at home.

Over time, things improved. Ruby and I began working together as a team again. It wasn’t perfect, but the balance we found restored our connection. I learned that it was okay to ask for help, and we both became more present in our family life.
