It all began a few weeks ago. After five years of trying, I finally saw two pink lines on the test. “Alex!” I called, my heart racing. When he entered, we shared tears of joy but agreed to wait for the doctor’s confirmation before telling anyone.
On the Sunday we planned to share the news, we arrived at Pauline’s house, only to find it decked out in pink and blue decorations. “How did you find out?” I gasped. She smiled, “I opened the letter from Dr. Patel!”
Fury surged through me. “You invaded our privacy!” I shouted. After we left, I vowed to teach her a lesson.
A week later, Alex and I watched from our car as an actor friend, posing as a police officer, knocked on Pauline’s door. “You’re being sued for violation of federal privacy laws,” he declared.
Pauline’s outrage echoed as we approached. “This is ridiculous!” she screamed. “You tricked me!”
