Blake is shocked when she finds wads of cash hidden in her daughter Nicole’s room. Unsure of how an 11-year-old could have so much money, she decides to follow Nicole after school. Blake is stunned to discover that Nicole has been meeting her estranged grandmother, a woman who abandoned their family years ago.
Confronting her mother in a café, Blake is filled with rage. Her mother tearfully explains how she had left for a better life but was deceived and left stranded. Now, she’s returned, hoping to reconnect and make amends by helping Nicole and Blake financially.
