“God Is Real”: Former Bills Quarterback Baptized, Wears Proudly Pro-Christian Shirt

With dark times obviously on the horizon, one of the few bright spots is religion, with salvation in the afterlife welcoming believers no matter what the trials and tribulations of today are. That bright spot popped into the news again with Jim Kelly, a former quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, converting to Christianity and getting baptized.

As background, Mr. Kelly played 11 seasons with the Buffalo Bills between 1986 and 1996, during which time he played in four Super Bowls. He was, in recognition of the records he set while on the field, inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002.

In any case, Mr. Kelly was recently baptized, as could be seen in a video of his baptism shared to his wife’s Instagram. In the video, Mr. Kelly can be heard saying “Yes I do” when asked by the preacher if he loves Jesus, then getting baptized.

Captioning the powerful video, Jill Kelly, his wife, said, “The very best of Summer 2023.” She added, “Jim’s t-shirt says, ‘God’s Real.’ He is! I have witnessed God at work in this man’s life for over 30 years…and I can tell you that God isn’t just REAL, He is faithful, trustworthy, kind, loving, compassionate, powerful, gracious, GOOD, merciful, forgiving…and so so much MORE. He is immeasurably MORE than we can imagine! He is EVERYTHING!

She then spoke about baptism and its importance, saying, “For those wondering…here’s what I know and understand about baptism: * it’s biblical – Jesus is our example. He was dedicated to the Lord as a baby and baptized as an adult before starting His earthly ministry. * it’s an act of obedience – Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20 * it’s an outward expression of an inward change of heart. A change of heart that comes through faith in Christ that only God can ultimately provide. * it’s a move of faith that unites us to Christ and his people.❤️
