I never imagined a simple walk in the park with my dog, Max, would turn into a life-changing moment. It all began when Max wandered off and returned with a small, worn leather bag clenched between his jaws. Inside, I found a note that left me speechless:
“To the kind soul who finds this, please help my dear wife. She forgets things sometimes. She’s carrying a small bag with an address. Thank you. — J.”
I couldn’t find the woman the note referred to in the park, but the address led me to a small house nearby. An elderly woman named Greta answered the door. When I handed her the bag and the note, her eyes filled with tears.
“My husband, Jacob, wrote this before he passed away last year,” she said. “He worried about me getting lost, so he left these notes in my bags. Even now, he’s looking out for me.”
As I left, I couldn’t help but reflect on the enduring power of love. That night, I realized that love lingers, even after someone is gone—just like my love for my parents remains in my heart.
