At Santa Monica beach, four friends—Ben, Todd, Willie, and Karl—promised to meet again in 40 years, on June 11, 2017, despite their paths diverging. Willie stayed in Los Angeles, Ben went to New York, Todd moved to Mexico, and Karl relocated to Spain.

Forty years later, Willie, Ben, and Todd reunited, but Karl was missing. They found a note from Karl at their bench, apologizing for his absence and expressing his love. Concerned, they visited Karl’s nephew, Andrew, who revealed Karl’s struggles and financial hardship.
