Morgan Freche, a 33-year-old Louisiana teacher, surrendered herself and was arrested on charges of rape and sexual battery. She allegedly gave birth to a child fathered by one of her students. The incidents date back about two years.

The allegations surfaced on September 24, when it was reported that Freche became pregnant by a 17-year-old student. Shortly after, she resigned from her position at Loranger High School. Freche was arrested and charged with third-degree rape, oral sexual battery, and four counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile after turning herself in.

The victim’s family is relieved that charges have been filed and will focus on getting therapy for the boy. The school district was unaware of the allegations until they were reported. The school superintendent emphasized the importance of student safety and professional conduct among employees. However, the family believes that the school system may have known about the situation but failed to act.
