18-Year-Old Girl Left Her Newborn Baby at the Hospital – Story of the Day

Nancy, a nurse, aids 18-year-old Rosaline in childbirth. Rosaline disappears, leaving a letter promising $100,000 in a year for her baby’s return. Nancy opts to raise the child, Steven, herself. Three years pass; Rosaline returns with $300,000 but demands Steven back.

Rosaline explains her troubled past: pregnant at 17, disowned by her father, involved in a theft for her baby’s sake, she abandoned Steven. Nancy refuses to let Steven go, despite Rosaline’s legal threats.

Nancy, torn between love for Steven and guilt, reveals the diamond Rosaline left—a stolen artifact. Fearing for Steven’s safety, she reports Rosaline to the police. The detective assures Nancy they’ll track Rosaline through the diamond’s serial number.
